Peter Klaas and Pieter first headed into the store. During the day they observed people in train stations and hospitals. They even interviewed customers asking various questions. Did they use the app? In which way? When? In the train or only until they were in the store? We used this information to write a script or a user test. This test was made up out of three parts: a pre-test interview, the user test itself and an exit interview.

During the user tests, we didn’t only ask participants to use the app: we also asked them some in depth questions. About the offers and possible new features. The advantage of this user test was that the people from AH to go were present themselves. At the end of each user interview, we asked them if they had any unanswered questions. This way, the people behind the AH to go app got the chance to gain even more useful insights from their target audience.

The research gave a lot of interesting insights, such as the most-used functionalities. Or how the navigation within the app could be improved. We bundled these insights and advice into a neat report and we closed the research with a final presentation. During this presentation, we showed videos of the participants. These videos not only provided great insights into possible improvements, but also gave a great overview for the people that were absent during the test day.
